Business Partner Gold

In 2021, Bosch Rexroth acquired a majority stake in Denmark-based cobot specialist Kassow Robots. With a payload of 5 to 18 kg and a reach of 850 to 1800 mm, all cobots in the portfolio can achieve joint speeds of up to 225 degrees per second. The five lightweight 7-axis cobots are ready for use in almost no time – in companies of all sizes.

Cobots for vernacular craftsmanship

  • Description

The integration of human-robot collaboration in timber construction opens up new possibilities for revitalizing vernacular, traditional wood joints that were largely displaced during the industrialization of construction. The project investigates how traditional joining techniques can be optimized through a synthesis of robotic and manual processes. The goal is to develop prototype workflows that improve precise joining, quality assurance, and work ergonomics, as well as promote the circular economy through single-material, demountable construction. Within the framework of an agile process combining manual work and robot control, methods are being developed that enable the translation of practical, hands-on knowledge into a coordinated robot choreography. A construction system will be digitally planned and manufactured at a scale of 1:1, and assembled and disassembled as a demonstrator. The focus is on issues of occupational safety, ergonomics, efficient spatial design for humans and robots, and sustainable construction processes. The project offers potential transfer opportunities to SMEs and contributes to the combination of traditional craftsmanship and modern robotics.

Update 2025: Current requirements for compliant cobot applications

  • Description

2025 will bring a number of significant regulatory changes that directly affect manufacturers, integrators, and operators of cobot applications. This keynote speech will provide a concise overview of the current standards and legal requirements: The new robotics standard EN ISO 10218:2025 – Key points and impacts on planning and integration The updated EN ISO 13849-1 (safety functions of control systems) – What will specifically change in the implementation of functional safety The new EU Machinery Regulation (EU 2023/1230) – Requirements for conformity assessment, CE marking, and technical documentation from January 20, 2027 Practical recommendations for the legally compliant development, integration, and safe operation of cobot systems A presentation for everyone who plans, builds, or operates safe and standards-compliant cobot applications – concise, up-to-date, and with a focus on practical implementation.

Do It Yourself Automation! Successfully Implementing DIY Robotics

  • Description

  • Automation is no longer just relevant for large industrial companies. Small and medium-sized enterprises and skilled trades businesses also benefit by optimizing processes, relieving the burden on skilled workers, and creating more attractive jobs. But how can automation be implemented cost-effectively without high investments and dependence on external providers? In my presentation, you will receive inspiration, ideas, and possible solutions to these questions. We will discuss:
  • Why DIY robotics?
  • How can it be implemented safely and quickly?
  • What challenges need to be overcome?
  • What do best practice examples look like? Using concrete use cases, the presentation will demonstrate how medium-sized companies can quickly get started with automation with minimal risk.

Leadership in times of digital change

  • Description

Digitalization is changing processes and procedures at an unprecedented pace, and even experts find it difficult to predict what artificial intelligence will be capable of in the next five years. This uncertainty affects companies as much as their employees. In times of change, stability and trust are crucial factors for successful leadership. As an engineer and expert in artificial intelligence, robotics, and digital transformation, I have worked closely with medium-sized companies and their leaders over the past few years. I am familiar with the challenges that come with introducing new technologies—not only on a technical level, but especially in leadership and dealing with change. But how can a leader convey security when they themselves are faced with uncertainty? What role does transparent communication play, and how can it be authentically anchored in the corporate culture? In my talk, I will share experiences and strategies from my practice—with a clear focus on how leaders can create a stable foundation in uncertain times through transparency and reflective communication.

Heavyweights in the cobot range 20 kg – A contribution to health protection

  • Description

This presentation provides an overview of how collaborative robots (cobots) with a payload of over 20 kg can make a significant contribution to occupational health and safety. Given the increasing importance of health protection, it is crucial to protect our employees from health problems, especially musculoskeletal disorders. The use of cobots can automate heavy lifting operations, significantly reducing the risk of physical overload. The presentation explains the advantages of this technology, describes specific applications in various work areas, and demonstrates how the implementation of cobots protects and promotes employee health in the long term.

Rethinking production: Automation with cobots as the key

  • learn more

The world of manufacturing is undoubtedly undergoing a transformation. Customer demands are constantly rising, which is why companies need to produce faster, more flexibly, and in smaller batch sizes. The search for suitable skilled workers is becoming even more difficult. For manufacturing companies, the automation of production processes—especially with the help of cobots—is proving to be an effective solution for overcoming these challenges. And it gets even better: Automation solutions can be implemented more easily and quickly these days than many people think.
