We humans are social beings. This is reflected in our actions, but also in the way we evaluate other entities. Social robotics aims to incorporate natural, social forms of communication into human-technology interaction. In field studies, my group and I enjoy leaving the ivory tower of academia and experimenting with companies to determine how the behavior of social robots of the future should be designed.
